Rathskeller

The word Rathskeller derives from the German words rathous (town hall) and keller (basement or cellar) and translates to “a cellar in a town hall in which beer is sold”.

The Liederkranz’ Rathskeller has olde world charm that is filled with history. The card tables are from the original 1871 building and have a place for your beer mug in each table leg. The ornate antique back bar is also from the original building and has the following inscriptions written in German:

  • “Where men sing, there is peace – evil men have no song”
  • “Speak only the truth – believe only that which is clear”
  • “He who does not love wine, women and song, will remain a fool his whole life long”

The Rathskeller is approximately 1000 square feet and will accommodate around 50 people.
