Liederkranz Live: Alli and I // Brad Hoffman //

Liederkranz 401 W 1st Street, Grand Island, NE, United States

    Alli And i
Alli and I began their journey in 2007 when Andrew Standley took his guitar, Alli, to the corner of 7th & P Streets and sang for passersby in the Historical Haymarket of Lincoln, Nebraska.

It’s been almost 17 years since then, and the acoustic ensemble is rolling stronger than ever with dozens of tour dates and their new release out now. THE DOTTED LINES EP packs the punch of a thousand thoughts, with anthems written about, and from the road.

Over the past decade and a half, Alli and I have made hundreds upon hundreds of friends; have played LIVE everywhere from Boston to Los Angeles; from Minneapolis to San Antonio. Pair that with the long discography of two full length records, three EPs, and a LIVE record, it's clear that Alli and I can deliver both on stage and in the studio.

    Liederkranz Live: Kevin McClure

Liederkranz 401 W 1st Street, Grand Island, NE, United States

Kevin McClure has two criteria for his music: the lyrics must be written earnestly and the instrumentation must be ambitious- utilizing a broad scope of music theory, timbre, and genre. Whether it’s music written for a quiet night at home or for blasting loud while driving down the highway, his songs are for people who want profound lyrics and eclectic musicality. This Omaha-based artist brings an exciting, high-energy live show that invites the crowd to something deeper than passive observers: he builds community.

For fans of The Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, Switchfoot, Bright Eyes, and Mat Kearney.

    Liederkranz Live: The Midnight Wanderers

Liederkranz 401 W 1st Street, Grand Island, NE, United States

The Midnight Wanderers started over a decade ago when husband and wife, Matt and Jenny Richardson started to delve deeper into the folk tradition. Matt picked up the banjo and Jenny gravitated to upright bass. From here they slowly shaped their band and the old-time goodness of their setlists which draws from bluegrass to old time, to folk and blues their music covering the gamut of americana. Matt, who grew up the son of a Texas Western Swing fiddle player, has recently started bringing more Bob Wills and western swing tunes into the group. Jenny, one of the main songwriters in the band has been adding in original tunes that blend well into the mix.

Thad Miller, fiddler extraordinaire, joined the band in 2019. He has become an integral part of their sound, with his fiery fast fiddle runs and high lonesome harmonies and vocal leads. Joel Grenemeier, a bluegrass veteran of the Lincoln scene, brought his dulcet tenor and mandolin sound to the Wanderers in early 2022. Rounding out the Sound is Colten Welch with his lightning-fast guitar licks and rhythm, bringing a fun energy to the group.

The Midnight Wanderers really are a collaborative effort. Taking turns singing lead and picking songs keep the set diverse. And with tunes curated from so many genres including classic rock, Western swing, country and bluegrass there's something for everyone.

    Liederkranz Live: Barak Hill

Liederkranz 401 W 1st Street, Grand Island, NE, United States

Barak Hill is a singer-songwriter from Springfield, Missouri, the winner of American Songwriter Magazine’s 2012 Santa Cruz Guitar Song Contest, and was named one of the top three solo musicians in Southwest Missouri in a 417 Magazine readers’ poll. Barak tours regularly and has shared the stage with a wide range of artists — from popular regional bands like Big Smith and The Ben Miller Band to national artists like Jay Farrar (Son Volt) and Amanda Shires (Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit). Barak’s songs and sound run in the same vein as Amos Lee, Josh Ritter, Steve Earle, and Gillian Welch. It’s heartbroken Americana hanging on to a fistful of hope that things might just get better. Honest, well-crafted lyrics set to strong melodies connect with people on an intimate, personal level.
